Breath gets shorter.
The posture is held, but somehow tension still clings to parts of the body.
You’re doing the asana, yet inside, your mind is still busy—something every yoga practitioner has probably felt at least once.
Your body moves, but it feels like something isn’t opening. A class that opens those blocked places with “sound” will be held on May 1 in Hannam-dong, Seoul.
Casa del Agua Retreat Space — A Space Where Sound Resonates
Casa del Agua, the wellness retreat space in Seoul where this class will take place, is a premium retreat environment. Meaning “house of water” in Spanish, this space aims to offer an experience that flows like water and purifies, just as its name suggests.
Inside, a large curved LED screen is installed, bringing immersive visuals to life—waterfalls, natural landscapes, and more. Beyond being a simple studio, Casa del Agua is designed as an immersive retreat environment that opens your senses as a whole. In this space, where natural visuals, singing bowl overtones, and lighting come together, the experience of practicing mantra yoga brings something different from a typical yoga class.

Instructor Iari — Connecting Body and Mind Through the Voice
Iari, the instructor leading the class, is the CEO of Soma Sound Lab and holds a master’s degree in mind-body healing education. She is a specialist who has been working to connect voice and body psychology. She also serves as the director of general affairs at the Korea Somatic & Mind Psychology Education Association, and holds qualifications such as Soma Expression Arts Promotion Facilitator (Level 2), Existential Counseling Therapist (Level 1), and Singing Bowl Healer.
What stands out in her background is her experience on the performing arts stage. Iari, who appeared on the episode featuring Lee Sora of the 2020 TV program 〈Hidden Singer 6〉, has shared that while performing on stage, she went through burnout, anxiety, and a loss of self, which led her to explore the essence of voice and healing. That turning point has carried forward into her current research and practice.
Today, she studies how the mind and body connect through the voice, and continues her work of interpreting emotions and memories contained in the voice from a healing perspective. She shares this through various formats—lectures, workshops, serialized column writing, and 1:1 counseling. From 2025 to 2026, she is also regularly publishing the “Iari’s Voice Therapy” column on the mental health platform “Mind Health Road.”
Her teaching experience is also wide-ranging. She has conducted, among other things: in 2026, a special lecture for the Department of Yoga Therapy at Seoul Buddhist Graduate University—“Voice of Asana”; in 2025, a talk at the One-Day Meditation × Healing Meditation Forum—“Voice, Beyond Expression, Toward Recovery”; in 2025, a youth growth project by the Jung-gu Office of Seoul—“Voice Therapy, Explore and Care for Myself Through My Voice”; and lectures at the Korea Somatic & Mind Psychology Education Association—“The Voice Contained in the Body, Wake Up to Yourself.”
What Is Mantra Yoga?
Mantra Yoga is a practice in which you repeatedly vocalize sacred sounds—mantras—and combine them with asana (postures), breathing, and meditation. It’s not just about holding poses; it focuses on using your voice to vibrate the internal space of your body and to shift your awareness.
In Iari’s mantra yoga, a voice-therapy approach is added to this foundation. The key is to treat sound not as “expression,” but as “a language of healing.” While maintaining the posture, you concentrate on how sound and breath resonate within your body—training that awakens sensations beyond language.
This Class Is Recommended for People Like These
This class is especially beneficial for those who:
often find their breath shortening during yoga practice, have trouble letting tension release from their body when taking movements, feel that while they hold the posture, their inner world is still busy, are not yet used to using their voice, or find it awkward to make sound.
Even if you feel blocked in both verbal and non-verbal expressions, feel that your chest or belly area is closed, or you can’t easily sense the depth or resonance of your breathing even though your body is moving, this class can open the door to a new way of practicing.
