What would it feel like if a robot played a singing bowl?
A special healing program is currently being held in Seoul to provide relief to the weary lives of modern people. The Seoul Robot Artificial Intelligence Science Museum is operating a meditation therapy program for adults called ‘Robot Night, Time to Find Myself’ every Tuesday evening until July 1st.
A Special Encounter Between Robots and Meditation
This program, presented by the Seoul Robot Artificial Intelligence Science Museum (Seoul RAIM), a branch of the Seoul City Science Museum, features experiential healing content conducted with a ‘robot singing bowl’. It is designed to provide citizens with a unique sensory experience and relaxation by combining robots and meditation under the theme of ‘body’ and ‘mind’.
The program is conducted over a total of 2 weeks per session, allowing participants to experience the difference in resonance created by robots and humans through a collaboration of singing bowls led by an AI-based robot and a meditation expert. There will also be time to focus on breathing and sensations while listening to questions randomly posed by the singing bowl.
Differentiated Programs by Week
In the first week, participants will view the permanent exhibition with a guide and then engage in a thematic explanation comparing the senses, movements, and recognition methods of humans and robots centered around the robot exhibits. The following meditation will allow participants to calmly observe the flow of emotions and thoughts opened through the exhibition viewing, while delicately observing the sensations of the body.
In the second week, participants will freely appreciate the exhibits and create their own questions in a ‘thought-centered viewing’ session. This will be followed by meditation, where participants will follow the process of breathing to feel inner tranquility and confront the essence of consciousness.
How to Participate and Schedule
The program is aimed at adults aged 19 and over and will be conducted in a total of 4 sessions (2 sessions per group). The first and second sessions are targeted at office workers, while the third and fourth sessions are for the general adult population, allowing participants from different backgrounds to experience the program in various ways.
- Participation Fee: 5,000 won per person (including exhibition admission fee)
- Number of Participants: 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis per session

Providing a Space for Emotional Relaxation
Yoo Man-seon, the director of the Seoul City Science Museum, stated, “I hope this space, themed around science and technology, will become a place for emotional relaxation that goes beyond simple knowledge transfer and allows modern people to look into their emotions and inner selves,” and added, “We will continue to develop science culture content closely related to citizens' lives.”
