Extended Reality (XR) technology is presenting a new paradigm for meditation. The meditation app 'MUA', developed by the domestic XR specialist company NP, has unveiled content that expands meditation, which was previously an immersive experience for one person, into a performance that many can participate in, in collaboration with music director Park Seol-ah.
This project is characterized by moving the main virtual space of the HMD-based XR meditation app 'MUA' to the 'NP XR Stage'. Director Park Seol-ah, who oversaw the music and narration of the 'MUA' app, performed various meditation instruments and presented a harmonious meditation sound of K-meditation music and global healing instruments.
Smart Meditation Solution Designed with a Scientific Approach
MUA's core is a hyper-personalized algorithm that combines real-time bio data collection through wearable devices and cognitive psychology-based survey analysis. It automatically recommends a meditation program optimized for individuals by comprehensively analyzing users' stress levels, heart rates, sleep patterns, and more.
This technology, developed through joint research between NP and KAIST, differentiates itself from existing meditation apps that simply provide fixed content. It reflects the user's current psychological state and physical condition in real-time to suggest the most effective meditation methods.
Fusion of K-Meditation Music and Global Healing Sounds
The sound production of MUA, which was unveiled this time, involved sound meditation expert Director Park Seol-ah. Director Park completed an original meditation sound using traditional Korean instruments such as the Bangjja Yugi singing bowl, 25-string Gayageum, and crystal chimes, along with healing instruments from around the world.
In particular, by incorporating the Solfeggio technique based on the natural vibration frequency, the psychological stabilization effect was maximized. This provides scientifically validated healing sounds rather than just simple background music.
Meditation Journey Implemented in 3 Immersive Virtual Spaces
MUA offers users a 3-step meditation space.
The first is the 'Kerenzia' space, which embodies a universe within a cave, creating a safe and comfortable personal refuge.
The second allows users to visually experience inner change and growth in a space where a tranquil pond and lotus flowers harmonize.
Finally, it leads to the ultimate meditation state through a journey into the vast universe.
Director Park Seol-ah stated, "In the XR space of MUA, while directly playing meditation music using Bangjja Yugi singing bowls, gongs, 25-string Gayageum, Korean vocal sounds, and various healing instruments from around the world, I experienced the disappearance of the boundary between reality and the virtual world," and added, "The deep immersion from a first-person perspective offers an experience that is on a different level from existing meditation."
Announcing Changes in the Meditation Market with XR Killer Content
NP CEO Baek Seung-eop stated, "MUA is XR killer content that will bring practical changes to users' daily lives beyond entertainment," and emphasized, "It will provide an optimized solution for modern people's stress and anxiety relief."
NP is a specialized company that has been producing XR content in various genres such as broadcasting, entertainment, and film since establishing the XR stage in 2021. Through the development of MUA, it plans to lead the digital innovation of meditation while expanding the new realm of K-content.
Entering the Global XR Platform to Seize Market Leadership
MUA will be officially launched through the Meta Store, and anyone with a Meta Quest can use it. In the future, it will also expand to Samsung's 'Project Infinity' and Apple's 'Vision Pro' platform to target the global XR market. As the meditation and wellness market is rapidly growing, attention is drawn to how domestic technology combining AI and XR will be evaluated in overseas markets.
