The Namwon National Folk Music Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun), located in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, announced that it will operate a free experience program titled 'Rest for Me, Korean Music Meditation' from September 19 to 27, 2025.

This Jeonbuk healing program is characterized by the title 'K-Sound Bath: The Leadership of Kings, Sounds that Awaken Me', combining K-Culture and wellness trends.

Inspired by the lives and wisdom of the Joseon kings, this special fusion Korean music meditation incorporates traditional elements such as the five colors, scents, and gestures, healing the inner self of modern individuals and helping them discover their own leadership.

This is a special experience of Namwon tourism that provides healing and reflection time for modern people by combining various meditation techniques.

Introduction to Namwon National Folk Music Center: The Mecca of Jeonbuk Traditional Culture

The Namwon National Folk Music Center is a national traditional culture institution that opened in March 1992 in Namwon, the birthplace of pansori.

Located at 54 Yangnim-gil, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, this representative cultural facility of Namwon was established to preserve and promote folk music centered on pansori and changgeuk, making it the hub of Jeonbuk healing tourism.

Major experience facilities include the 680-seat Yewondang, Yeumheon, Korean Music Exhibition Hall, and Folk Music Resource Room, and it hosts regular performances such as Saturday permanent performances, pansori yard, and planned performances like intangible cultural heritage invitation performances and folk music grand festivals.

Additionally, it offers traditional culture experience courses for the general public, including bamboo flute, haegeum, folk songs and pansori, gayageum, and Korean dance, as well as a 'Tintin Changgeuk Class' for elementary school students.

This Korean music meditation program is also aimed at tourists visiting Namwon, families, and local citizens, with 20 participants recruited for each session.

Participation is free, and enrollment will be from September 8 (Monday) to September 12 (Friday).

The Special Appeal of the Free Healing Experience in Namwon in September 2025

The free Korean music meditation program in the second half of the year consists of a total of 4 sessions on Friday late afternoons and Saturday early mornings, providing unique traditional culture experiences reflecting the characteristics of representative kings from the Joseon Dynasty in each session.

The first session will be on September 19 (Friday) at 7 PM, titled 'Sejong's Gesture', featuring a meditation experience inspired by the moon jar, providing deep reflection through the moon jar, which symbolizes King Sejong's creative spirit and perfection.

The second session will be held on September 20 (Saturday) at 7 AM, themed 'The Fragrance of Jeongjo', focusing on breathing techniques and movement meditation, healing through traditional breathing methods that embody Jeongjo's reformist will and human-centered philosophy.

The third session, 'The Sound of Taejo', will take place on September 26 (Friday) at 7 PM, featuring traditional cultural meditation reinterpreting Ganggangsullae, reflecting the grandeur of the founding of Joseon through modern reinterpretation of traditional games.

The fourth session, 'The Color of Yeongjo', will be held on September 27 (Saturday) at 7 AM, focusing on emotional meditation using the five colors, aiming to implement Yeongjo's balanced governance philosophy through the theory of the five colors.

Special Traditional Elements of the Jeonbuk Korean Music Meditation Program

Each session will feature traditional Korean music performances such as Cheongseonggok and Cheonnyeonmanse, adding depth to the Namwon healing experience.

The vibrations created by the melodies and rhythms of Korean music stabilize the participants' minds, and the unique resonance of traditional instruments provides a time for modern individuals to find inner peace through Jeonbuk traditional culture experiences.

Essential Course for Namwon Tourism, Special Experience Space within the Namwon National Folk Music Center

This free healing program in 2025 will take place in the lobby and Heungbu Maru of the Namwon National Folk Music Center.

The Heungbu Maru, with its traditional hanok structure, is a Namwon experience space where one can feel natural lighting and the beauty of traditional Korean architecture, providing an optimal environment for meditation.

The lobby also serves as a cultural space in Jeonbuk, showcasing Korean musical instruments and traditional artworks, promising participants a special meditation experience in Namwon tourism.

Expanding Accessibility to Traditional Culture through the 2025 Jeonbuk Free Experience Program

The most significant feature of this Namwon healing program is that participation is completely free.

Each session has a capacity of 20 participants, recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, lowering the threshold for more citizens to experience the healing value of traditional Korean music.

A New Model for Jeonbuk Healing Tourism, Meeting of Tradition and Modernity

The Namwon National Folk Music Center planned this free program in the second half of the year based on the successful operation of the Korean music meditation program 'Breathing Garden' held at Gwanghallu Garden in the first half of this year.

While the previous program focused on meditation in a natural environment, this 2025 program is characterized by a modern reinterpretation of the philosophies and wisdom of the kings of the Joseon Dynasty.

Mental Health Benefits of Experiencing Traditional Culture in Namwon

This Jeonbuk Korean music meditation program is evaluated as an attempt to reinterpret Korean music not just as an art for viewing but as practical Namwon tourism content that helps modern people's mental health and healing.

In particular, it provides an opportunity for Jeonbuk healing travel to rediscover the healing power of traditional music in a society with high stress.

A representative of the Namwon National Folk Music Center stated, "We hope that participants can find true inner peace through this free experience program inspired by the lives and wisdom of the Joseon kings in 2025," and added, "We will continue to develop new approaches to Namwon tourism that allow traditional Korean music to permeate modern life."

Applications can be made by signing up on the Namwon National Folk Music Center website and applying for the educational experience program. Those on the waiting list will be contacted separately in case of cancellations.
