A Feast of Meditation Unfolded at Songdo Central Park, Opening Ceremony Attended by 500 People
The 4th Incheon Global Meditation Forum held its opening ceremony on September 13th.
The '2025 Incheon Global Meditation Forum' held its opening ceremony at the lawn park of Songdo Central Park in Incheon on the 13th and will run for four days until the 17th.
This meditation forum is hosted by the Dongguk Meditation Center (Chairman Bo-wol Seok Jong-yeon) and sponsored by the city of Incheon.
Starting with a meditation lecture by the head of the Jin Gwan Sa Meditation Center, Hye-joo, various programs aimed at popularizing meditation will be presented, including the No Thought Challenge (a daydreaming competition), meditation experience booths featuring chakra tea and aroma, and mobile meditation.
Meditation at the Opening Ceremony Attended by 500 People
The opening ceremony held at the lawn park of Songdo Central Park was attended by over 500 people, including Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, Incheon Superintendent of Education Do Seong-hoon, local leaders, citizens, and Buddhists, who experienced various meditation programs. The event began with a lecture by Hye-joo, the head of the Jin Gwan Sa Meditation Center in Seoul, followed by the No Thought Challenge (also known as the daydreaming competition), mobile meditation, and other programs. Additionally, meditation experience booths featuring chakra tea and aroma were set up, allowing beginners unfamiliar with meditation to participate interestingly.
Boat Meditation Held Before the Opening Ceremony Gained Great Popularity
The most attention and response of the day came from the boat meditation held before the opening ceremony.
120 citizens who pre-registered for the boat meditation event experienced a 40-minute ride on a water taxi cruising around the lake park of Songdo Central Park, participating in singing bowl and aroma meditation.
The opening ceremony was attended by over 500 people, including Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, Incheon Superintendent of Education Do Seong-hoon, and various dignitaries, citizens, and Buddhist believers.
Mobile Meditation Program for the Disabled, Dementia Patients, and Their Families
The 'Mobile Meditation Program' will be conducted from September 15th to 17th for three days, targeting the disabled and dementia patients, as well as their families, who are in the educational, cultural, and welfare blind spots. This program will be conducted for the disabled and dementia patients and their families who are in the blind spots of education, culture, and welfare, with participation from facilities such as Vision and Protection Workshop and Yeonsu-gu Dementia Safety Center.
Chairman Bo-wol Seok Jong-yeon of the Dongguk Meditation Center stated, "I hope that the 4th Incheon Global Meditation Forum will help citizens' mental healing and improve their quality of life, branding Incheon as a central city for mental health and wellness."
