Mago, the vocalist who sang ‘Premonition’ on the 2003 film My Tutor Friend OST, is meeting audiences again through the music for The Intern, more than 20 years later.
More than 20 years ago, Mago’s voice featured at the end of My Tutor Friend. In 2026, music by MAGO SOUND will feature in The Intern.
MAGO SOUND, comprising vocalist Mago, handpan player Sion, synthesiser player Song Su-jeong and percussionist Jo Jeong-wook, is a group that has forged its own musical world by connecting meditation and music, breath and movement in a single flow.
What they want to express through music lies somewhat apart from dazzling technique and intense stimulation. The phrase ‘not a performance that spreads outwards, but one that leads inwards’ neatly captures the direction in which MAGO SOUND approaches music. The group has extended this philosophy beyond the music itself to the format of its performances.

‘Silent Live’ meets meditation and wellness music
As an early leader in South Korea’s meditation and wellness silent-live scene, MAGO SOUND has developed its own distinctive sound by combining ‘Silent Live’ – in which audiences listen to live music in real time while wearing wireless headphones – with meditation and wellness music.
This is not simply a matter of transferring the sound of a conventional performance to headphones. While a typical performance sends sound throughout a venue, MAGO SOUND’s Silent Live brings even the vocalist’s faintest breath and the instruments’ most delicate resonances closer through the headphones.
As if a singer were wearing headphones in a recording studio and listening closely to even the smallest sounds from their own voice and instruments, audiences too take a step deeper into the music.
Although they are listening to music together in the same space, each person turns towards their own inner world in that moment. That is why MAGO SOUND sees music not simply as something to ‘listen to’, but as an ‘experience’.
Their music has a consistent direction: to create, through sound, a path back to oneself, and to make recovery part of everyday life rather than something reserved for a special day.

‘Sustainable wellness music’ features in The Intern
A moment to pause, breathe and observe the sounds within oneself. MAGO SOUND’s ‘sustainable wellness music’ also begins from that point. This time, the group’s music moves beyond the concert venue to meet audiences in cinemas.
The Intern, a film suffused with warm humanism, follows the relationships and emotions between people. MAGO SOUND’s music quietly finds its way into the story at a certain moment.
MAGO SOUND recommends that audiences discover for themselves, while watching the film, in which scene and with what feeling its music appears. The group said that if viewers follow the story and suddenly hear a sound that lingers in their minds, they should pause and listen. It added that, if they do, they may reach the moment of realising, ‘Ah, so this is MAGO SOUND’s music.’
The film also contains another small delight. Mago and members of MAGO SOUND make a very brief appearance.
Viewers can find out where they appear by watching the film. Spotting MAGO SOUND somewhere on screen, like playing a hidden-picture game, is another small pleasure of enjoying The Intern.
Like a scene discovered by chance in a film, MAGO SOUND’s music offers an experience that quietly touches the heart at a certain moment. Audiences can discover both the sound and the group’s appearance for themselves in The Intern.

About MAGO SOUND
MAGO SOUND is a band made up of music professionals working across vocals, composition, performance and production. It is also a brand and creative group that creates a range of artistic experiences centred on music. Based on an artist collective that creates and performs its own music, it plans and produces not only original recordings but also music for films, dramas and videos, while presenting performance content through collaborations across various artistic fields.
It also extends the sensory and emotional experience of music into the wellness field, planning and producing music-based wellness content that connects meditation, movement, spaces and music. In particular, through Silent Live – which incorporates a wireless headphone system into live performances – it is creating a new form of performance experience that enables audiences to immerse themselves more deeply in sound and music.
