The American Zen meditation with Master Daeji will be held in Busan.
Busan Hongbeopsa (Abbot Simsan) has newly launched the "American Zen Meditation" program since January, introducing practical meditation methods tailored to modern life, and has been continuing monthly workshops amidst the interest of many Buddhists.
On May 15th (Thursday), Master Daeji will be specially invited to provide a deeper experience of Zen meditation.
This workshop will be conducted based on practical Zen meditation training from the American Linji school, reinterpreted to fit the practice environment and emotions of Korean Buddhists.
Master Daeji ordained in 2009 at Okcheon Temple in Busan under the guidance of Master Jeonghye. After graduating from Bongnyeongsa Sangha University, he practiced meditation at Yaksuam and Bohyeonam Zen centers during his graduate studies at Bongnyeongsa Vinaya University, and also took on responsibilities at Beomnyongsa, the National Association of Bhikkhunis. Currently, he is practicing at Bosansa in Cheongju and is responsible for training novice nuns. Master Daeji, who has a comprehensive understanding of traditional monastic practice and modern meditation methods, serves as a bridge for Korean Buddhists to approach Zen practice in a more friendly and practical way.
Master Daeji will calmly and kindly convey the essence of Zen meditation so that beginners and lay Buddhists can easily approach meditation.

This workshop is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 15th, from 2 PM for three hours at Busan Hongbeopsa, and registration is available online.
Participants coming from afar can stay at the temple. If you apply for temple stay at Hongbeopsa the day before the workshop, you can experience both the temple stay program and the Zen meditation workshop for one night and two days.
