On February 7, 2026, a special gathering will take place at the auditorium of Seoul Buddhist University. This is the winter forum hosted by the Korean Mind-Body Healing Association.
Running from 1 PM to 6 PM for five hours, this forum is a time for experts and stakeholders in the field of mind-body healing to come together and explore the essence of healing. This event, which presents a path to regain balance of body and mind for modern individuals weary from busy daily lives, is expected to be a meaningful occasion that reflects on the true meaning of healing beyond a simple academic event.
Korean Mind-Body Healing Association, A Research Journey Towards a Healthy and Happy Life
Based in Bundang, Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, the Korean Mind-Body Healing Association is a professional academic organization that operates under the motto of "Mind-Body Healing for a Healthy and Happy Life." The association brings together experts from various fields such as mind-body medicine, meditation healing, and integrative medicine to continue research and exchange aimed at enhancing the mind-body health of modern individuals. Dr. Ahn Hee-young, who serves as the honorary president, received her Ph.D. in adult education from Columbia University in the United States and is the first person to officially introduce Jon Kabat-Zinn's MBSR program in Korea. Currently, she is actively involved in translating numerous works on mindfulness, including 'Integrative Mind-Body Healing' through the Korean MBSR Research Institute.
In particular, this association is noteworthy for its pursuit of true well-being through harmonious balance of body and mind, going beyond merely treating diseases. It operates qualification training programs to cultivate professionals and contributes to the academic development of the field of mind-body healing through regular publication of academic journals.
Winter Forum, Opening a New Horizon in Mind-Body Healing
The reason this winter forum is special is that it is held in the symbolic space of Seoul Buddhist University. This place, where the meditation tradition of Buddhism meets modern mind-body medicine, is also a site of fusion where ancient Eastern wisdom and Western scientific approaches converge.
This gathering of association members will be a precious time to share the latest research results in mind-body healing, exchange experiences from clinical settings, and seek future directions for development. Participants are expected to gain practical knowledge applicable to real healing settings while laying the theoretical foundation of mind-body healing through academic presentations and discussions.
Mind-Body Healing, An Integrated Approach Required by the Times
Modern society is intertwined with mental illnesses such as stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as physical issues like chronic diseases and weakened immunity. In this era, mind-body healing, which approaches the body and mind integratively without separation, is becoming increasingly important.
The winter forum of the Korean Mind-Body Healing Association serves as a platform for academic exchange that meets these contemporary demands. It explores the scientific basis of various mind-body healing techniques such as meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and relaxation therapy, shares clinical application cases, and seeks new healing paradigms.
The association's executives, including Academic Chair Baek Yang-sook, are preparing for this forum to be a meaningful time where all participants gain new insights into the healing of body and mind, going beyond mere information exchange. A diverse range of programs, including academic presentations, workshops, and discussions, will create a learning environment where theory and practice harmonize.
Continuous Exploration Towards the Essence of Healing
The Korean Mind-Body Healing Association has simultaneously pursued the popularization and specialization of mind-body healing through regular forums, seminars, one-day classes, and video lectures. Sharing research results through academic journal publications, cultivating professionals through qualification training, and creating platforms for exchange through various academic events have been the consistent path of the association.
This winter forum is also an extension of those efforts. The theme of mind-body healing is a question that humanity has continuously pursued from ancient times to the present. Despite the advancements in medicine and science, or perhaps because of them, integrated healing of body and mind remains an important task of our time.
