As interest grows beyond simple comfort and toward fundamental changes at the heart of the self, (사)Korean Meditation Association (Chairman Park Do-hyun), which has driven the scientificization and popularization of meditation, is set to hold its 2026 spring academic conference. The conference will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 9:30 a.m. in the Cha Huyoung Hall on the annex campus at Seoul’s Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital.
The theme of this conference is “Multidimensional Structure of Consciousness and Deep Healing.” The Korean Meditation Association said it has created a forum for sharing deep wisdom at a time when the values of reflection and solidarity through meditation are drawing attention worldwide.
Co-hosted with the World Meditation Day Korea Committee
This academic conference is held in cooperation with the “World Meditation Day Korea Committee.” The event is divided into two sessions in order to cover a wide range, from meditation’s social role to the deep world of the unconscious. The academic program is organized by Kwon Chan-young, the chair of the academic committee, and Seo Hyo-won, the vice chair of the academic committee.
Session 1: Systematizing meditative thinking and creating social value
Session 1 examines practical solutions for applying “Systematizing Meditative Thinking and Creating Social Value” to real life. Ok Yeok-kyung, president of the Korea Body-Psychology Education Association, introduces “Ken Wilber’s AQAL (Quadrants of Consciousness),” which allows for a three-dimensional look at the complex-systems era. Ko Tae-hwan, a teacher from Boryeosu Seonwon, will present healing processes ranging from crisis intervention to restoring everyday life. Kim Jin-woong, CEO of Lab4DX, will propose a plan to innovate customer value using integrative theory.
Session 2: In-depth exploration of consciousness and transcendent healing
Following the lunch break, Session 2, themed “Deep Exploration of Consciousness and Transcendent Healing,” addresses the unconscious dimension. Park Seong-hyeon, professor at Seoul Buddhist Graduate University, explains traditional meditation methods in the language of contemporary scholarship through “Ganhwa Seon (Hwadu Seon) Viewed Through a Theory of Transforming Consciousness.” Kim Myeong-gwon, CEO of the Korea Trusm Center, will guide attendees through the transcendent healing process with “Grof Psychology and Holotropic Breathwork Therapy.” After all lectures conclude, a certificate-granting ceremony for 2026 and a closing ceremony will be held.
Park Do-hyun, chairman of the Korean Meditation Association, said, “Even with a busy weekend, it is a meaningful occasion where everyone is willing to set aside time to gather their minds together. I sincerely hope that this will be a rewarding and beneficial time for all participants to gain insights into deep healing that they can practice in their daily lives.”
