‘Bukchon Morning Rave vol.21’ opens on 22 August with caviar, K-beauty and music to start the day
Instead of alcohol and late nights, a new morning culture that starts the day healthily with music and dance, coffee and K-beauty is taking shape in Seoul’s Bukchon.
KAHI YLESS and the wellness music project PROJECT120130 team up for ‘Bukchon*Morning Rave (Bukchon Morning Rave) vol.21’, taking place at KAHI YLESS Bukchon from 8am to 10.30am on Saturday 22 August.
Held with music and drinking culture of the night shifted to morning, the event is a programme that expands music and movement into everyday wellness. By bringing together coffee and food, K-beauty and community around music and dance, it offers a new lifestyle that gets you moving naturally without alcohol, encourages you to mingle with people and helps you kick-start your day energetically.
In particular, PROJECT120130, which plans the event, focuses on the energy delivered by rhythms and movement at 120–130 BPM, linking music and wellness. It views music not as content to simply listen to, but as a wellness experience that gets your body moving, shifts your mood and connects you with other people.
For vol.21, it will also run with free entry, allowing you to experience, in one place, not only music but also a morning menu using caviar, coffee and a K-beauty programme.
At 8am, awaken your body and senses with music
At this event, DJ MINJI, DISCO REVOLUTION and CHAE will take part to fill Bukchon’s morning from 8am to 10.30am with different sounds.
At 8am, the event’s resident DJ MINJI opens the doors. She will present sets that flow naturally, moving between genres including House, Tech House, Disco, Pop, Reggae and Brazilian Funk, matching the atmosphere of the space and the energy of the moment.
DJ MINJI has lived in a range of cities, including Brazil, the UK, Italy, New York, Ibiza, Lisbon and Berlin, and has travelled through more than 65 countries, experiencing a variety of music and cultures first-hand. She says the inspiration she draws from party scenes around the world, including Toolum, Serbia, Jamaica, Nigeria, Tunisia, Israel and Lebanon, blends naturally into her own sound and energy. The music she creates is characterised by sets that freely cross the boundaries between genres up to House, Tech House, Disco, Pop, Reggae and Brazilian Funk, and by an organic approach that focuses less on genres themselves and more on the atmosphere of the space and the energy of the moment.
From 8.40am, a special B2B set by DISCO REVOLUTION follows. DISCO REVOLUTION is a project featuring DJ Jinwook and Radio Revolution, who have worked for a long time in Korea’s underground music scene, combining disco soul with the pulse of modern electronic music. With the motto ‘Freedom, expression and inclusion on the dance floor’, it connects generations and people through music.
Finally, at 9.40am, Antidote’s resident DJ CHAE takes the stage. She has taken part in major venues such as Boiler Room Seoul and The Air House, as well as a variety of global brand and culture projects, and is actively working both at home and abroad, including in Europe, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo and Osaka.
Breakfast exercise with speakers and silent disco, enjoyed your own way
Bukchon Morning Rave is made up of two sound environments so participants can enjoy music and movement in line with their own tastes and condition.
At the backstage four-speaker zone behind the DJ, you can feel the vivid sound of the现场 and the energy of the dance floor directly, without headphones.
At the same time, the silent disco zone lets you wear wireless headphones and enjoy the DJ set more immersively. Headphones are available to borrow for free on site.
Whether you dance enthusiastically or sip coffee and move your body lightly, the event is also designed as a wellness way to join in on your own rhythm, without a fixed method.
A wellness experience where music, taste and beauty connect
Alongside music, the event also offers a programme where you can experience food and K-beauty together.
Participants will be provided free caviar mango yoghurt and caviar cake, as well as coffee and finger food. Personal colour and point makeup demonstrations will also be held on site on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you buy three or more items on the day of the event, you can purchase everything at a 50% discounted price.
An event will also be held to regram the official poster to your Instagram story. Five people among the participants will be selected at random and given a new product, ‘GahI Caviar PDRN EGF Ampoule’ (worth about 145,000 won per item).
You can take part in the regram event until 5pm on Friday 21 August, and the winners will be announced via DM at 10.30am on the day of the event, 22 August. Winners can collect the product on site.
Saturday morning without alcohol, a new wellness community
In recent times, the scope of wellness has been expanding beyond exercise and diet into everyday experiences such as music, culture and community.
So does Bukchon Morning Rave start from the idea that it is not ‘an activity you should do for your health’, but that the enjoyable experience of listening to and dancing to music you love can naturally lead to connection—between movement and between people.
You can enjoy music and dance even without alcohol or late nights, and you can move your body freely to the music without wearing sportswear and doing set exercises.
By linking morning coffee and food, K-beauty, music and the people who dance together into one experience, Bukchon Morning Rave aims to create a new wellness culture in Seoul and a morning-type community.
The event offers free entry and requires advance registration. Registration is available until 10pm on Friday 21 August, and if the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, it may close early. Participants who complete the Google Form registration can enter on the day of the event after their name is checked on site, without any separate individual confirmation.
