Brew a Cup of Tea and End with Meditation: Hotels Welcome Fall with Tea Meditation and Forest Experiences for a Slower Stay

As fall arrives, hotels are rolling out a series of relaxation programs centered on forest walks, tea and meditation. These wellness offerings are designed to help guests slow down for a while as they walk forest trails and brew and sip tea. One notable feature of this fall’s packages is that meditation is woven into a sequence alongside a cup of tea and a walk, rather than offered as a standalone class.

Time to Walk, Read and Listen in the Forest

Walkerhill Hotels & Resorts has introduced six Camc-nic packages that combine a camping atmosphere with picnics in an urban forest. Grand Walkerhill Seoul, Vista Walkerhill Seoul and Douglas House each offer packages with different features. The forest is also home to the newly renovated Forest Caravan—Forest Bookshop. It holds about 120 books selected by independent bookstore THANKS BOOKS, giving guests a place to read at a leisurely pace amid the trees. Walkerhill also offers Healing Forest and guided forest experiences, where guests can walk the trails, hear stories about nature and take in the changing seasons.

Choose Your Tea and Focus on the Brewing

Haevichi Hotels & Resorts is partnering with tea brand BUBUTI on its fall campaign, Blended Autumn. The theme is slow wellness: paying attention to the aroma, temperature and taste while choosing, brewing and drinking tea. From the 12th through the 21st, Haevichi Hotel & Resort Jeju and Rolling Hills Hotel are selling a package limited to 50 rooms to Instagram followers. Guests receive a portable BUBUTI tea set.

Rolling Hills Hotel will hold four outdoor sessions of its Find Your Blend tea class on the 17th–18th and 24th–25th. The program includes a talk about tea in the autumn garden, hands-on tea brewing and a closing meditation. DoubleTree by Hilton Seoul Pangyo is offering its Autumn Tea Harmony afternoon tea in partnership with German tea brand Ronnefeldt from September through the end of November. It will also hold tea classes for purchasers, introducing pairings of tea and desserts.

Meditation That Begins at the Tea Table

The hotel that most closely combines tea and meditation is Potaraca Naksan Beach Wellness Hotel, which opened in Yangyang, Gangwon Province, this July. Its tea wellness sessions feature green, matcha, white, oolong and black teas, as well as pu-erh, brewed by guests and savored slowly. After the tea, the session moves into meditation focused on breathing and the senses. The hotel also offers programs combining singing bowls and tea meditation, sunrise yoga, sleep meditation and aromatherapy.

An Open Door for Those Who Find It Hard to Sit Still and Clear Their Minds

In an age when information and notifications pour in without pause, sitting quietly and clearing the mind can feel daunting for many people. Choosing tea leaves, adjusting the water temperature and taking in the aroma are activities that engage both the hands and the senses. For those new to meditation, focusing attention on hands-on tasks like these can be a relatively approachable starting point. Walking slowly along a forest trail, listening to the sound of singing bowls and stretching in morning sunlight through yoga are other ways to explore what works for each person.

The trend of bringing tea and meditation into the hotel stay shows how meditation is moving beyond dedicated practice spaces and becoming part of travel and everyday life. The industry is expanding its fall offerings by adding walks and picnics to existing spaces such as forests and gardens, and incorporating tea and meditation into overnight stays. The chance to slow down and take in the season is itself becoming part of what hotels have to offer.
