Like an old relationship, the season has returned when the body and mind meet again.

In March, as warm spring sunlight creeps through the window, how often have we actually spoken to 'my body'? We bury the signal that our shoulders are stiff under a patch, and when our back hurts, we adjust our posture only to forget it in the end. This is our daily life.

In the spring of 2026, a program quietly opening in Seoul will create cracks in that familiar indifference.

What is Body Mapping — "You feel as much as you know"

Body Mapping is not just a simple stretching or yoga class. It is a process of understanding the structural principles of the human body, namely the skeleton, muscles, joints, and directions of movement anatomically, and helping that knowledge to 'come down' from the head to the actual sensations of the body.

Body Mapping is closely related to the philosophy of Somatics. Somatics is a field named by philosopher Thomas Hanna, exploring the 'experiential body (soma)' that is felt from within, rather than the body that is observed from the outside. While medicine or biology looks at the body as an object, Somatics focuses on the lived experience occurring within the body itself. In other words, the moment when anatomical knowledge transforms from illustrations in textbooks to living sensations — that is the goal of Body Mapping.

2026 Spring Body Mapping Course — Simultaneous Start in Gangnam and Hannam

This program is conducted simultaneously in two locations, Gangnam and Hannam, enhancing accessibility for participants. Notably, this season marks the first opening in the Gangbuk area in collaboration with the meditation specialty space 'Daily Meditation'.

Gangnam Center — The School of Alexander Technique will be held every Thursday evening from 7 PM to 10 PM, with a capacity of 10 participants. Classes will start on March 12 and continue for a total of 10 sessions over April and May.

Hannam Center — Daily Meditation Wellness Center Space Hoo will operate every Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM, with a capacity of 20 participants. It is scheduled to start on March 13, and this space, located near the Namsan Hyatt Hotel in Hannam-dong, features a spacious indoor area and a rooftop outdoor space, providing healing through the space itself.

Both centers will follow the same curriculum, and in case of unavoidable absences, participants can make up classes on different days at the other center, allowing for a flexible experience of the 10-week course.

10 Weeks, 30 Hours — Traveling Through the Whole Body by Parts

This course consists of a total of 10 sessions, 30 hours from March to May. Each class will first easily convey anatomical information about the structure, such as the skeleton, muscles, and connective tissues, divided by body parts, and then proceed to practical exercises where participants can directly feel and embody that information. It is designed not just to memorize theories but to explore the world of the body in an engaging and fun way.

Thirty hours is by no means a short time, but it is actually the minimum time needed to closely examine the entire body by parts. Participants who have already experienced this course report feelings like "It felt like meeting my body for the first time" or "The way I teach my members has changed".

Open to Both Experts and General Public

This program accommodates two types of participants simultaneously.

One group consists of movement professionals working in yoga, pilates, personal training, and rehabilitation fields. They are not so much lacking in anatomical knowledge itself but are grappling with the practical question of 'how to approach members' bodies somatically to create real changes'. The Body Mapping course becomes a training ground for accumulating that know-how.

The other group includes general individuals who want to know more about their bodies while practicing meditation, or those who wish to change their everyday movements, and those who have begun to take an interest in mindfulness through the body. The door is wide open for them to take their first step into the world of Somatics without heavy specialized knowledge.

Starting Spring with My Body

Somatics researchers say that awareness of the body goes beyond simply reducing pain or correcting posture. The process of understanding how my body moves and where it holds tension is no different from understanding oneself more deeply. The body is a map of the mind, and Body Mapping is a time to draw that map directly.

In the spring of 2026, a 10-week journey may not be as long as it seems. If, after that spring, the way I look at my body changes, it could be the seed of change that affects the entirety of the remaining life.
