The Korea Meditation Leaders Association (Chairman Jeokgyeong Sunim), which has been at the forefront of training meditation leaders for the popularization and integration of meditation into daily life, is recruiting students for the opening of the Meditation Academy's spring semester.
Level 2 and Level 1 Qualification Courses with Online Zoom Lectures and a 1-Night, 2-Day Offline Training Camp
The Meditation Academy is divided into 'Level 2 Qualification Course' and 'Level 1 Qualification Course', conducted over 10 weeks through online 'Zoom'. Additionally, the offline training camp for the 1-night, 2-day course will feature meditation practice and experiential programs that are difficult to conduct in online lectures.
For those who want to learn meditation systematically for the first time, the Level 2 course serves as the entry point. The 'Level 2 Qualification Course' will start on March 18 and run until May 20, with classes every Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Various meditation programs will be introduced, including Gapi Meditation, Mindfulness Meditation, Compassion Meditation, Jeongto Meditation (Avatar Meditation), Breath Insight Meditation, Maha Samatha Vipassana Meditation, and Flower Garland Meditation.
The Level 1 course, for those who want to take a step further, offers a different depth. The 'Level 1 Qualification Course' will be more specialized with theoretical and practical lectures compared to the Level 2 course. It will start on March 21 and run until May 23, with classes every Saturday from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Topics will include Gapi Meditation, Mindfulness Meditation & Health, 100 Days to Change Myself, Triple Meditation, Heart Smile Meditation Program, Breath Insight Meditation 2, Understanding the MBSR Program, Sati - Mindfulness Meditation, and the principles and effects of Koan Meditation.
Meditation Programs with 28 Instructors Including Jeokgyeong Sunim, Yongta Sunim, and Simsan Sunim
If the curriculum is broad and deep, the thickness of the instructors supports that trust. The instructors of the Meditation Academy include Jeokgyeong Sunim, the representative of Gapi Mental Health Guidance, Yongta Sunim, the head of Dongsa Seop Happiness Village, and Simsan Sunim, the chairman of Singing Bowl Healing Sound, along with 28 meditation leaders affiliated with the Korea Meditation Leaders Association, who will guide various meditation programs.
The fact that 28 masters, each with their own unique world of meditation, are all included in one semester is what makes this academy special.
The Meaning of Learning Meditation
The meditation leader course is not just a process of obtaining a certificate. It is a time to explore one's inner self and acquire the language to share that experience with others. As mindfulness and MBSR are actively being introduced in companies, hospitals, and schools, the role of meditation leaders is expanding into broader areas.
Spring is a great season to start. And meditation, once started, becomes a lifelong companion in practice.
Enrollment for the courses is on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications can be submitted through the 'Course Registration' section on the Korea Meditation Leaders Association website.
