A city day is constantly in motion. When you chase a schedule and get swept up by your emotions, you can even forget where you stand. The balance yoga and meditation talk about isn’t a kind of unshakable firmness. It’s closer to a force that brings you back to the center even while you’re still swaying.
Ahimsa Yoga & Meditation Center, a specialist organization dedicated to training yoga-meditation leaders, will hold June weekend workshops on the theme of that sense of balance. The main title is “Balance (Upekkhā), Calm Found in the Midst of the Swirl.” The sessions run three times, every Saturday in June, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A Sense of the Center, Stability Your Body Remembers First
On Saturday, June 13, the RYT200 intro workshop “A Sense of the Center, Stability Your Body Remembers First” will take place. Rather than treating proper alignment as only a matter of the shapes of poses, it will be approached as a process of finding the center point from which the body can stand most stably. Participants will check for themselves whether their body leans to one side, learn how to stand up straight by reducing muscle tension through the body’s skeletal alignment, and experience the psychological stability that comes along when the body’s center is set.

Chakra Healing Meditation, Rebalancing Uneven Energy
On June 20, the meditation workshop “Chakra Healing Meditation, Restoring the Energy of Balance” will follow. It’s designed to examine the changes that occur in the body and mind when energy is tilted to one side or when there isn’t enough of it, and to fill the time with a practice of restoring balance across each chakra. It helps when emotional up-and-downs are strong and you sway easily, when some part of your body feels blocked as if it can’t move, or when you want to break away from overthinking and find your center again. Participants will experience a flow that brings body and mind back into harmony and helps them regain stability.
The Flow of Balance, Between Strength and Relaxation
On June 27, the RYT200 intro workshop “The Flow of Balance, Harmony of Strength and Relaxation” will be held again. The program focuses on the point that bodily balance is not a state in which you never sway—it begins with using the strength you need while setting down unnecessary tension. You’ll notice parts where you’re over-engaging and parts you may have been neglecting, and directly feel the stability that arises at the point where support meets relaxation. Participants will also learn a sense for using energy efficiently.
Yoga Alliance Official Certification, Ahimsa—an International Yoga-Meditation Training Institution
Ahimsa Yoga&Meditation is a yoga-meditation training studio located in Yongsan, Seoul. It is an international training institution that offers RYT200 and RYT500 yoga instructor training after receiving official RYS200 and RYS300 certification from the international yoga federation, Yoga Alliance. It has trained leaders with an even emphasis on meditation and philosophy, anatomy, and asana. This June workshop is designed so that even general participants can lightly experience classes that reflect the depth of the instructor program. The participation fee is 40,000 won per session.
