Instead of heading straight home after work, an evening that lets Ulsan residents rest their body and mind by stopping by the museum is returning. The Ulsan Museum said on the 26th that it will run a June lecture series, “After-Work Rest, Museum,” a program linked to “Culture Days,” for adults on June 10.

Every second Wednesday of the month, a comma of evening calm at the museum

“After-Work Rest, Museum” is an experiential program designed to help busy residents unwind their bodies and minds at the museum after work. Since opening in April, it has been held every second Wednesday of the month through July.

The May class centered on singing bowl meditation, paired with aromatherapy and yoga stretching, drawing strong responses from participants. After finishing the session, attendees said it was a time to put a comma into everyday life, adding that they want to return with their families or colleagues.

June’s theme is “Singing Bowl, Wednesday’s Museum Healing”

Building on the momentum from May, the June classes will be held under the theme “Singing Bowl, Wednesday’s Museum Healing (Museum Healing).” The program consists of a meditation experience that helps participants loosen the tension in their bodies and minds by following the sounds and vibrations produced by the singing bowls.

The program runs for 90 minutes and begins with stretching to awaken the sensations of a body that has grown stiff. It then moves into meditation, where participants choose their breathing and quietly observe their mind. From there, it leads into deeper relaxation through singing bowl sound meditation. The structure is designed to help citizens who step in carrying the fatigue of the day return slowly to themselves.

Class schedule and participation guidance

In June, the classes will be held twice at the Ulsan Museum’s Industrial History Fact 2—Immersive Video Room: at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Each session allows 15 adults, for a total of 30 adults per month, and the tuition is free.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via the Ulsan city integrated reservation system “Ulsanmoa” at the website (ulsan.go.kr/y/yes/main.do), from 10:00 a.m. on May 27 to 5:00 p.m. on June 2. The final class in July will also recruit participants through “Ulsanmoa.”
