It's Time to Learn Meditation Properly
In our busy lives, we often think, "I should meditate," but we often feel lost about where to start. We might try following YouTube videos or downloading meditation apps, but it quickly fizzles out due to a lack of structure.
If you want to embrace meditation not just as a simple relaxation technique but as a transformative practice, it's time to embark on a proper learning path. The Samatha·Vipassana Meditation Certification Course starting in March 2026 at Munsasu Meditation Center could be the answer.
True Healing Begins When We Face Pain, Not Avoid It
"Meditation practice is a way to save oneself and to love oneself."
As Iljung Sunim said, meditation is not just a tool for reducing stress. Through inner calm (Samatha) and the wisdom of insight (Vipassana), we come to deeply understand the essence of life. Research from Harvard Medical School has proven that continuous meditation practice increases gray matter density in the brain, reducing the activity of the amygdala that regulates stress responses and enhancing the function of the prefrontal cortex.

The Level 1 course, which can be pursued after obtaining the Level 2 certification, will be held every Monday evening from March 16 to July 27. Based on early scriptures such as the Anapanasati Sutta, Satipatthana Sutta, and the Visuddhimagga, it deepens the understanding of meditation instructors through theory and practice.
The fee for general participants is 1,000,000 KRW (payment in 23 installments available), while monks and young people in their 20s can enroll for 800,000 KRW. Additionally, 23 young people in their 20s will receive scholarship benefits through the 'Cheongyang Dasun Youth Scholarship Fund'.
The Power of Consistency in Meditation, Creating a 3.5 Times Difference
According to statistics from the Korean Meditation Instructors Association, practitioners who have completed a systematic meditation certification course have about 3.5 times higher consistency in meditation compared to general participants. The difference between simply sitting alone to meditate and learning systematically is clear. The application of mindfulness in daily life also significantly improves.
Meditation cultivates the power of wisdom to view the world. And that wisdom allows us to truly extend a hand to others only when we love ourselves first.
