What would it be like to meditate while listening to traditional Korean music?

The Namwon National Folk Music Center announced on the 9th that it will operate the ‘Rest for Myself, Korean Music Meditation’ program, which involves morning meditation while listening to traditional Korean music, every Wednesday from 7 to 9 AM starting from the 21st until June 11.

The newly introduced healing program ‘Korean Music Meditation’ created by the National Folk Music Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun) helps participants achieve mental and physical stability through a unique combination of traditional Korean music, yoga, and meditation, and has received great responses with high satisfaction levels regarding the program's structure and effects.

Starting from October 2, 2024, the ‘Korean Music Meditation’ program is held every Wednesday from 7 AM to 8:30 AM, providing a differentiated meditation experience with Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, singing bowl therapy, emotional aroma meditation, and performances of traditional Korean instruments such as the gayageum, haegeum, and daegeum.

Participants have shown positive reactions, stating, “It gives me great energy to start the day,” and “The melodies of traditional Korean music greatly help in calming the mind,” highly evaluating the program's effects.
