Meditation in Marine and Mountain Nature to Build ‘Connection and Communication’ — Korea Mindfulness Association to Hold 2026 Summer Intensive Training

The Korea Mindfulness Association, a registered nonprofit, will hold its ‘2026 Summer Intensive Training’ for two nights and three days at the Sancheong Korean Medicine Family Hotel in South Gyeongsang Province from Aug. 21 through Aug. 23.

This year’s training theme is ‘Meditation Together: Connection and Communication.’ Organizers expect it to be a time in which participants look inward in nature and share healing and growth through meditation with important people such as family members, friends, and colleagues.

The association introduced the session as a “special journey in which you walk the path of meditation you used to walk alone, together, to understand one another and become connected.” In particular, against the backdrop of Mount Jiri’s clear natural environment, it is set up so participants can restore balance in body and mind through a variety of meditation programs.

A key feature of this program is that it encompasses various meditation methods so that anyone—from beginners to seasoned practitioners—can take part.

Participants can experience a range of practice programs, including ▲walking meditation ▲seated meditation (jeongjwa meditation) ▲breathing meditation ▲breathing mindfulness ▲tea meditation ▲sound meditation ▲sama-ryang sim meditation ▲body scan ▲mindfulness yoga. The program also includes special lectures and meditation talks, such as “from relaxation to awakening,” as well as a time for participants to share their experiences, offering an opportunity to exchange practice experiences with one another.

The biggest highlight of this intensive training is its special program called ‘Meditation Companions Together.’

Members of the Korea Mindfulness Association can participate together by bringing family members, friends, or colleagues, and separate discount benefits are provided to the accompanying participants. The association said it planned the program to spread a culture of practicing meditation together beyond individual practice.

Registration fees include lodging and meals, training notes, and souvenirs, and participants can receive discount benefits with early registration. Based on the criteria for regular members, general registration is 480,000 won, while early registration is 456,000 won. Separate discount benefits are also offered to students and graduate students in doctoral programs.

Applications can be submitted with early registration through July 31 and with general registration through Aug. 13. Registration can be completed by submitting via the QR code on the notice or through a Google application form.

A person with the Korea Mindfulness Association said, “This 2026 summer intensive training will be a meaningful time for sharing the value of meditation not only through connection with oneself, but also with family, friends, and colleagues.” The person added, “We hope it becomes a time to experience deep rest and new insights in Sancheong, filled with lush green scenery.”

Meanwhile, the 2026 Korea Mindfulness Association summer intensive training will be held at the Sancheong Korean Medicine Family Hotel in South Gyeongsang Province from Aug. 21 to Aug. 23, and the program may change in part depending on the association’s circumstances.
