Color Knew Me — Center One Opens “Color Energy Meditation” Class

Choosing a color means choosing who you are right now.

On June 13, an open course for meeting your inner self through color and breathing will be held at the Center One Meditation Center in Haebangchon, Seoul.

The meaning of when your favorite color changes

Once, blue was my favorite, but somehow my hands keep reaching for beige or white these days. My closet, my mugs, my notebooks—before I know it, they’re all filled with similar shades. I didn’t consciously decide to do it. Still, I’m choosing certain colors without realizing it.

In color psychology, this phenomenon is not seen as a simple shift in taste. It’s viewed as emotional energy I need right now—and the inner desire I have—showing up through color. Color is not only information perceived by the eyes; it is a language that the body and mind respond to.

A program that connects this feeling to meditation is being held at Center One, a meditation space in Yongsan, Seoul. On Saturday, June 13, in the afternoon, the “Color Energy Meditation: Finding Inner Balance Through the Sense of Color” class will take place.

A natural color bottle and aromatherapy, leading into coloring—2 hours

This class consists of four parts. It’s not just an “experience” of meditation. Participants will notice their current emotional state through the sensory language of color, relax tension in the body, and then listen closely to the voice within.

Part 1. Meet your present self through color (20 minutes)

After calming the body and mind with breath meditation, you intuitively choose the color that draws you in right now. Through noticing which color attracts you—and which color feels uncomfortable—you gently become aware of your current emotions and energy state.

Part 2. Color energy imagery meditation (30 minutes)

Using the scent of natural color bottles and aromatherapy, you’ll do a deep relaxation meditation. It’s a time to feel color and breathing together and let go of tension in the body and mind. The sensory experience created by the combination of fragrance and shade produces a different kind of relaxation than typical breath meditation.

Part 3. Coloring meditation & sharing (40 minutes)

Remember the message that color conveys and color freely. Without the pressure of needing to draw well, it becomes a process of expressing inner sensations through color. After coloring, participants share their feelings and sensory experiences together.

Part 4. Integration & closing (30 minutes)

Wrap up your experience from today and write a card letter addressed to the self you have right now. This is more than just organizing impressions. It’s a closing session designed to help you carry forward the sense of caring for yourself even after you return to everyday life.

Host Sally (Kim So-young): Color, questions, and the language of sensation

The host leading this class is Sally (Kim So-young). She is the CEO of On Your Color and works as a U.K.-certified Aura-Soma practitioner and a KPC specialized coach. Through a method that connects color and emotions with career coaching, she has run workshops to help people with self-understanding and inner recovery.

Aura-Soma is a color therapy system based in the United Kingdom that combines color with plant essences. It uses color not only as something you look at, but as a tool for seeing yourself through color.

A seat open to people who are trying meditation for the first time, too

This class is open even if you have no meditation experience. In fact, for people who find meditation unfamiliar—or who feel awkward sitting quietly with their eyes closed—this sensory approach to color and coloring can become a more natural entry point.

It’s especially recommended for people in situations like the following.

▲ People who are worn out in body and mind and need a quiet time for recovery

People interested in color, emotions, and energy

People who are new to meditation but want to try it comfortably

People who need a moment to look back at themselves amid a busy daily routine

People who want to connect with themselves through sensation
