A moment of being, experienced through sound, the body, movement and stories
Taking place on 31 October at Yatap Youth Centre in Bundang-gu, Seongnam

As we go through life, surrounded by countless roles and expectations, we often push ourselves to ‘do better’. We think we must be good parents, do our jobs well and always live up to expectations. When we become absorbed in getting things done, we have less and less time to reflect on ourselves as we are, here and now.
The 2026 Good Being Meditation Concert, taking place on 31 October at Yatap Youth Centre in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, starts from precisely this point.
The concert’s theme is ‘You Were Already Shining’, with the subtitle ‘From Being Someone Who Has to Do Well to Simply Being’. It is not an occasion to achieve more or become a better person. It is a chance to pause, listen to sounds, feel the body, move and listen to stories, and reconnect with ourselves in this moment.
A group of people who have practised meditation, reading, movement and sharing Good Being
The event is hosted by Good Being, part of the Korea Mind Strength Meditation Association. GOOD BEING means ‘a life in which we respect ourselves as we are now and simply be, rather than believing we are only worthwhile if we do something well’. It began when people who studied 『Inner Communication』 together joined forces to practise meditation, reading, movement and sharing. The group has put into practice in daily life a way of living that seeks to understand and respect the self as it is, rather than constantly judging and trying to fix it.
Good Being is currently preparing to register as a non-profit civil society organisation, so that it can pursue public-interest activities more sustainably. Through meditation, reading, movement, education and sharing, it is extending the values of Good Being beyond the individual’s inner life.
This meditation concert, too, is an extension of that practice.
Unlike a conventional concert, where the audience simply watches, this event is designed for attendees to take part through their own senses, directly experiencing sound, breath, bodily movement and stories. Sound healing meditation, Korean dance, children’s meditation, singing and movement, tai chi, readings and a book talk bring different art forms and meditation practices together in a single flow.
PART 1. You Were Already Shining
Sound, body and deep resonance
The concert opens with a welcome and introductory meditation led by host Kim Han-ye and gayageum player Lee Eun-jeong. It is a chance to step away from the busyness of everyday life, settle into the breath and the senses, and meet yourself here and now.
Next, in the sound healing meditation Harmony 〈Deep Resonance〉, gayageum player and singing bowl healer Lee Eun-jeong joins healing musician Hoam and singing bowl healer Jeong Hyeon-i. Through sound, the session offers an experience of connecting with oneself and meeting others, as each person’s resonance reaches those around them and expands into the space.
Korean dancer Park Yu-ra’s original work 〈空, Emptying〉 is a dance meditation that uses the breath, movement and rhythm of Korean dance to help participants stay with bodily sensations, become aware of themselves and reach a state of letting go.
Good Being KIDS 〈The Pot Story〉 brings together directors Kim Song-hui and Kim Mi-jin with the children taking part in the concert. It is a chance to look kindly even at the parts of ourselves we have wanted to hide, and rediscover the ability to accept ourselves as we are.
In the singing and movement meditation 〈A Song That Touches the Body〉, soprano Park Bo-ra and writer Park Mi-ok invite participants to do more than simply listen to a song: they experience its resonance through the body and movement. Following the voice and movement, they connect with their bodies and discover their own rhythm.
PART 2. Movement, stories and discovering being
Moving, listening and singing together to meet ourselves and one another in this moment
Part 2 opens with the tai chi performance 〈The Flow Within Me〉. It begins with a solo movement by Kim Suk-young, followed by movements from Kim Han-ye, Lee Ju-young, Bae Dong-su, Kim Ji-yeon, Kang Chang-woo, Park Seon-young, Park Mi-ok, Lee Won-ju, Kim Jeong-seon, Choi Du-yeon and Kim Min-ho, with all 12 moving as one breath. One person’s movement expands into the flow of many, and finally the audience naturally joins in, dissolving the boundary between stage and auditorium. It is a chance to experience physically how my movement becomes our movement, then spreads through the whole space.
The meditation and reading session 〈A Voice That Shares the Heart〉 is led by reader Lee Seo-a. Through deep breathing, participants tune into their bodies and listen to voices and stories, briefly turning their gaze inwards from the world outside.
Later in the concert, writer Kim Ji-hyeon will give a book talk entitled 〈I Was Someone Who Did Not Need Fixing〉.
Kim speaks about emerging into everyday life again after a period when her husband’s sudden accident seemed to bring her life to a halt. What she discovered as she crossed the boundary between life and death, walked again, spoke again and returned to ordinary days was not the answer that she needed to ‘become a better version of myself’.
When she let go of the belief that she had to keep fixing and changing herself, something began to come into view: she was not someone who needed fixing because she was lacking; she was already alive and here, in the present.
The book talk will explore care and recovery experienced in the wake of a life crisis, meditation and inner communication, and the journey of shifting one’s perspective from ‘the self that needs fixing’ to ‘the self that simply exists’.
The concert will close with everyone singing the ‘Good Being Song’ together, followed by a prize draw.
Just as my resonance and yours meet to become one voice, the event will share the meaning of Good Being: not a life of managing everything alone, but one in which we recognise one another’s existence and live together.
Good Being does not seek to offer some grand answer to healing through this concert.
It is about pausing for a moment and feeling your breath.
It is about listening to the signals your body sends.
It is about truly listening to another person’s voice.
And it is about looking at yourself without judgement.
It is about taking a break from the question ‘What do I need to do better?’ and discovering ‘How am I being right now?’
From sound to body, from body to movement, from movement to story. And from one person’s experience to the experience we all share. At the end of this three-hour journey, we meet again the self who was already shining.
The 2026 Good Being Meditation Concert will take place from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 31 October at Yatap Youth Centre in Bundang-gu, Seongnam. Doors open at 1.30pm, and admission is free.
