A time to encounter being through sound, body, movement and stories
To be held Oct. 31 at Yatap Youth Center in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam

As we go through life, we often push ourselves to “do better” amid countless roles and expectations. We think we have to be good parents, do our jobs well and always be the person others expect us to be. The more absorbed we become in accomplishing things, the less time we have to reflect on the self who is here, right now.
The 2026 Good Being Meditation Concert, to be held Oct. 31 at Yatap Youth Center in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, begins right there.
The concert’s theme is “You Were Already Shining,” with the subtitle “From a Self Who Has to Do Well to a Self Who Is Simply Here.” It is not a place to achieve more or become a better person. It is a chance to pause, listen to sound, feel the body, move and listen to stories—and reconnect with yourself in this moment.
An organization bringing together people who practice meditation, reading, movement and sharing Good Being
The event is hosted by Good Being, an initiative of the Korea Mind Strength Meditation Association. GOOD BEING means “a life in which we respect ourselves as we are and simply be, rather than believing we are valuable only when we do something well.” The group was founded by people who came together through their study of 『Inner Communication』 and their practice of meditation, reading, movement and sharing. They have worked together to put into daily practice a way of life that seeks to understand and respect oneself as one is, rather than constantly judging and trying to fix oneself.
Good Being is currently preparing to register as a nonprofit private organization to support more sustained public-interest work. Through meditation, reading, movement, education and sharing, it is expanding the values of Good Being beyond the individual’s inner life.
This meditation concert, too, is an extension of that practice.
Unlike a typical concert, where audiences simply watch the performance, this event is designed for attendees to participate through their own senses, directly experiencing sound, breath, bodily movement and stories. Sound healing meditation and Korean dance, kids’ meditation, vocal performance and movement, tai chi, readings and a book talk bring different art forms and meditation practices together in one continuous flow.
PART 1. You Were Already Shining
Sound, body and deep resonance
The concert opens with a welcome and introductory meditation led by host Kim Han-ye and Ga-geum Lee Eun-jung. It is a chance to step away from a busy day, settle into your breath and senses, and meet yourself here and now.
The sound healing meditation Harmony 〈Deep Resonance〉 follows, featuring Ga-geum, singing bowl healer; Hoam, healing musician; and Jeong Hyeon-i, singing bowl healer. Through sound, they offer an experience of connecting with oneself and meeting others, as each person’s resonance reaches others and expands into the space.
Korean dancer Park Yu-ra’s original work 〈空, Emptying〉 is a dance meditation that draws on the breath, movement and rhythm of Korean dance. It invites participants to stay with bodily sensations, become aware of themselves and move toward letting go.
Good Being KIDS’ 〈The Pot Story〉 features directors Kim Song-hui and Kim Mi-jin, together with children taking part in the concert. It is a time to look kindly even at the parts of ourselves we would rather hide, and to recover the ability to accept ourselves as we are.
In vocal performance and movement meditation 〈A Song That Touches the Body〉, soprano Park Bo-ra and writer Park Mi-ok invite participants not just to listen to a song but to experience its resonance through the body and movement. It is a chance to connect with your body through voice and movement and discover your own rhythm.
PART 2. Movement, Stories and the Discovery of Being
Moving, listening and singing together to meet ourselves and one another in the present moment
Part 2 opens with tai chi 〈The Flow Within Me〉. Beginning with a solo movement by Kim Suk-young, the movements of 12 people—Kim Han-ye, Lee Ju-young, Bae Dong-su, Kim Ji-yeon, Kang Chang-woo, Park Sun-young, Park Mi-ok, Lee Won-ju, Kim Jeong-seon, Choi Du-yeon and Kim Min-ho—come together in a shared rhythm. One person’s movement expands into the flow of many, and finally the audience joins in naturally, dissolving the boundary between stage and seating. It is a chance to experience with the body how my movement becomes our movement, then spreads into the flow of the entire space.
The meditation and reading 〈A Voice That Shares the Heart〉 follows, led by reader Lee Seo-a. Participants feel their bodies through deep breathing, listen closely to voices and stories, and briefly turn their gaze inward from the world outside.
Later in the concert, writer Kim Ji-hyeon will give a book talk titled 〈I Didn’t Need to Fix Myself〉.
Kim will talk about coming back to everyday life after a time when her husband’s sudden accident made it feel as if her life had stopped. What she discovered as she began walking again, speaking again and living ordinary days again after crossing the boundary between life and death was not an answer that she had to “become a better version of myself.”
When she let go of the belief that she had to constantly fix and change herself, something finally came into view: she was not someone who needed fixing because she was lacking, but someone already alive and present here and now.
The book talk will explore care and recovery through life’s crises, meditation and inner communication, and the shift in perspective from “a self that needs fixing” to “a self that simply exists.”
The concert concludes with everyone singing the “Good Being Song” together, followed by a prize drawing.
Just as my resonance and yours meet to become one voice, the event shares the meaning of Good Being: not a life of managing everything alone, but one in which we recognize one another’s presence and live together.
Good Being does not intend to offer grand answers about healing through this concert.
It is about pausing to feel your breath.
It is about listening to the signals your body sends.
It is about truly hearing another person’s voice.
And it is about looking at yourself without judgment.
It is a chance to step away for a moment from the question, “What do I need to do better?” and encounter the question, “How am I here, right now?”
From sound to body, from body to movement, from movement to stories—and from one person’s experience to the experience we share. At the end of this three-hour journey, we meet again the self who was already shining.
The 2026 Good Being Meditation Concert will take place Saturday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Yatap Youth Center in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and admission is free. Registration is first come, first served. Children may attend with an adult.
